We regularly give group tours of the factory to classes and clubs from public and private schools. Today, we held our first tour that gave homeschooled students that same opportunity. We had put the invitation out on social media a couple months ago and had over 20 people — of all ages — attend today’s activity.
We took the families on a plant tour, held a Q&A session, and talked about business, entrepreneurship, and career paths that can be had in the industrial sector. It was a good experiential learning event…seeing manufacturing taking place is always an eye-opener.
This is the first of what will be many homeschool events. We plan to host a homeschool tour every June and December. Keep an eye on our social media this fall for date, time, and registration.
