April 17, 2019 was the big day: The official ground breaking!
Gratwick Park sits across the street from Confer Plastics and it is a real jewel on the Niagara River. Unfortunately, it has been underutilized by boaters (and some who have used it have been ticketed) because weekend and weeknight visitors and tourists would find that they’d have to go to City Hall during business hours to get a season pass.
To fix this, last year, Confer Plastics gave a proposal and $10,000 in seed money to the City of North Tonawanda to invest in a ticket kiosk for launch passes that would be installed at Gratwick.
Today, city workers dug and poured the pad!
This private-public partnership gives families access to the beautiful Niagara River, helps boost tourism, and, as an outcome, creates various new revenue streams for the City and local businesses.
It will be good to look out of our conference room windows and see many, many families enjoying the mighty Niagara!
