Dear Confer Classic supporter,
Thank you for making the third annual Confer Classic Golf Tournament a smashing success!
The 2018 numbers were extraordinary…
- 110 golfers
- 100 basket and door prizes
- And the biggest and best number of them all: Profits from the event were $13,600! That brings our 3-year total to more than $40,000!
When we started this fundraiser 3 years ago our goal was to raise $7,500 a year. We have exceeded that dramatically thanks to you. You might have helped our fundraising in one or many ways as a golfer, sponsor, donor of goods or services, or volunteer.
We appreciate what you did. So do the scouts who will benefit from your charitable giving.
All of the proceeds from the Confer Classic have been donated to the Iroquois Trail Council, which serves the cub scouts and boy scouts of eastern Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Livingston, and Wyoming Counties in Western New York. The Council, which also operates Camp Dittmer and Camp Sam Wood, has 2,500 youth in its membership.
Know that your donations are a major investment in their future. As I mentioned in my speech at the tournament, the 5 counties we serve are quite economically depressed and many of our scouts are living in poverty. Scouting gives these boys the confidence, life skills, and knowledge of careers and leadership to help them overcome this and other obstacles in their lives. They will grow up to be the men who will turn those communities around and make our region a better place.
THANK YOU for being there for them. It means a lot.
