I’d like you to meet Colton.
This young fella lives in Pennsylvania and is 3 years old.
He lives with a neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. It’s similar to ALS, but in children. Colton cannot walk, move any voluntary muscles, breathe or eat on his own.
Despite all that, the tough young man has no cognitive delays and he is just like a typical 3 year old little boy: Colton loves the water!
Last year, his family got a swimming pool for him. Not only does he love to swim, but it is also really good therapy — it takes away the gravity and he can wiggle in the water.
His mom is in the process of building a deck with a ramp to ensure Colton has a safe and easier way to enter the pool. To help her with what is involved with getting Colton into the pool, we are donating and shipping one of our Curve pool steps, so she and her son — and his sister! — can enjoy the pool together, with as little stress as possible.
We are reaching out to see if any swimming pool dealers and distributors would like to help with a care package to Colton — maybe some floats or toys he can use in the pool.
If interested in helping Colton enjoy the summer, email Bob Confer at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide Colton’s shipping address.
