Message to our coworkers…
Based on the success of their inaugural drive in 2017, the Red Cross is scheduled to hold a blood drive here on August 2nd. The purpose is to help the Red Cross fill up blood banks in local hospitals to help people in the event of a health crisis. Before we officially schedule the event, I need to make sure enough people are interested.
The drive would occur on that day between the hours of noon and 5:00. First shift personnel could give blood towards the end of their shift. Second shift personnel could give blood at the start of their shift, rest a half hour and be assigned a less intense machine. This blood drive would also be open to your immediate family members. Last year, we had more than 20 donors.
All donors to this drive would receive a $20 card to Subway from the company as an incentive to donate. Refreshments will also be provided by Red Cross following your donation.
There are some eligibility requirements that can be found online at RedCrossBlood.org/donating-blood. Please know that travel or living in some countries will exclude participation due to Malaria risks. You’ll find that list online.
If interested in giving, let your supervisor know by this Friday so we can book this event accordingly with Red Cross.
