A heads up to our coworkers, visitors, and truck drivers….
The Lockport Union-Sun and Journal is reporting on a road closure that will affect us late this week or early next week:
Folks who come to Confer Plastics from the Buffalo area or the Falls via River Road will not be able to use the Witmer – River crossing.
In past closings, it was easy enough to get here by using the next crossing, which is the Ward Road crossing. But, the Mayor’s press release reads as if Ward could possibly be closed the same time as Witmer. That said, prepare yourself by finding an alternate route now.
If Ward Road is open, turn onto Ward. When you come to the light at the end of the street, turn left onto Ward again (to your right will be Oliver Street). Take Ward north to the next intersection and turn left onto Warner. At the four way stop, turn left onto Witmer and enter our main driveway.
If Ward is closed, there’s a chance the next intersection, Felton, will be too. So, you will have to turn onto Wheatfield Street (which the new Route 429). Then, turn left onto Oliver (429). Take 429/Oliver/Ward north to the intersection with Warner/Payne and turn left onto Warner. At the four way stop, turn left onto Witmer and enter our main driveway.
Our truck drivers will have to use Witmer/Warner/Ward to get to the Boulevard and our sites at Liberty Drive or the Bell plant. They cannot take Witmer all the way to the Boulevard.
