Warrior House is an organization that benefits veterans and their families. It was started by reclaiming an abandoned property in Shelby in Orleans County and restoring the house to host disabled veterans for various hunts throughout the year.  Volunteers completely refurbished the house and groomed the property. The purpose was to give vets a sense of community by allowing them to participate in outdoor activities in which they would be unable to embark on their own.  They have expanded the program to assist local veteran families in need for the holidays as well.

Their next event will be a Christmas offering through which the organization provides a Christmas meal and gifts for children to veteran families that did not have extra money to spend on Christmas. Last year they served 17 families at Christmas and would like to do more than that this year.

Organizers will be collecting donations and Sarah from Adecco assist with will all of the packing and distribution.  If you can, donate a new unwrapped children’s toy no later than this Thursday evening. The drop box will be located outside of the foremen’s office. Sarah or someone else from Adecco will pick up the box on Friday.
