CPI holds Narcan training — and more employers should

narcan

In response to the heroin and opioid epidemic that is destroying good families and precious lives across Western New York, today at the plant we had training for our shift and site supervisors on how to administer Narcan to save people from deadly overdoses. In this brutal world, it’s a necessity — between workers, their friends, truck drivers, visitors, neighboring businesses and more, we have a few hundred people at our 3 facilities on any given day…and, statistically, some of them are users and we have to be prepared for the worst. We strongly encourage more employers (businesses, schools, non-profits) to get the training. It’s free, the Narcan kits are free (each individual in the class gets one) and the instructor Andrew Steel is excellent. You can schedule a class for your workplace by contacting Andrew at Lake Plains Community Health Care at 585.345.6110 or asteel@lakeplains.org
